Bi-lingual teaching method enormously contributes to the furtherance of the learning and exchange of the world advanced medical science for the students involved, and accelerating the development of medical science in China. However, in China presently, the shortage of teaching materials in English on the major of operative dentistry and endodontics and the in-feasibility of directly introducing the original editions in course of teaching urge the necessity for immediate action that the scholars and teachers should compile applicable teaching materi- als corresponding with the domestic students' ability.
Under this situation, according to the syllabus, we consult reference books, including teaching materials of original editions, and compile the special book on operative dentistry and endodontics in English. The book, consisting of dental disease, restorative dentistry and endodontics, fulfills the consolidated standards of teaching materials, therefore, it could be as- sistant teaching material for school of stomatology in The Fourth Military Medical University, and it is adaptive for students of 5-year-course, 8-year-course and graduates in the school of stomatology, and it could offer great help for the faculty and the students of junior colleges.
